Teri Tsosie - Director of Technology Email: ttsosie@hbcsd.org Currently, the Director of Technology for Hermosa Beach City School District, CA. A position held since November or 1992. Up until this year also taught Technology Education to the middle school students. Designed and put in place the Technology Education Laboratory at Hermosa Valley School, which was dedicated to the "Janet Hart, and Alex Lidow Family in 2007 for their contributions towards the success of this program. Prior to working in Hermosa Beach, worked in the Hawthorne School District, CA. as the Industrial Arts Teacher, recognized as one of the "first" in-the-state-of-California to have successfully transformed a wood-lab into a "Technology Education Laboratory". Over the course of several years has taught technology related courses for Chapman University, CA. Pepperdine University, CA. California State University (CSU), Long Beach State University (CSULB), and has collaborated on numerous projects with Cerritos Community College on "Technology Training projects". The recipient of numerous awards, both state and national, for innovative programs in technology education, has been recognized as authoring & developing curriculum modules for major companies that manufacture and market technology units nation-wide. Each year, is task with a busy schedule of technology presentations, "hands-on" workshops to educators, colleagues, business partners, community services clubs, and the community-at-large as well as being a qualified "trainer-of-trainers". On a yearly basis is a key-presenter for the California Industrial Technology Educators Association (CITEA) and the Industrial Technology Educators Association (ITEA). As a result of this, has enjoyed the invited honor to speak at the annual International Design and Technology Association (DATA) conference in the United Kingdom (UK). Having been a resource & leader, has also identified the need to develop technology-education curriculum for the elementary grades by actively writing grants to procure the necessary funding to see these projects through-to-fruition. In this connection, has designed, developed, and implemented a series of "Elementary" Boot-Camps which are currently being used in a variety of school districts in the State-of-California as well as nation-wide. Received an MA in Industrial/Technology-Education at California State University, Long Beach in 1989.
