Dr. Sharon McClain - Superintendent

Sharon McClain has been an educator for over 30 years.  She has been a classroom teacher, a school principal, a District Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent, and a Superintendent in two districts.  Dr. McClain received her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University with distinction in Spanish.  She completed her master’s degree at National University and received her doctorate from the University of La Verne.  She has studied in Guadalajara, Mexico and San Antonio de Belen, Costa Rica. 

Dr. McClain is the parent of 2 children, 4 foster children and “Nana” to 8 grandchildren.  Sharon says she thoroughly enjoys working to improve education for children and feels there’s no better place to do that than Hermosa Beach.  She is proud of the great kids, professional staff, supportive parents and community, and of course, the hard working Board of Education.
