I grew up in Ridgecrest, earned my B.A. in Music from UC Santa Barbara and my teaching credential and Master's in Education from UCLA in 1987. I'm happy and blessed to have been working at Hermosa Valley School since then.
I taught middle school Physical Education for 12 years and in 2000 made the switch to the 4th grade. I love that my profession allows me to get to know so many students and families.

Some accomplishments I'm proud of are bicycling (between 1984 and 1994) down the Oregon and California coast, making it to the top of Mt. Whitney and Half Dome, and finishing Hermosa's pier-to-pier swim seven times.

There is never an end to discovery and amazement in ourselves, others and our world. I love experiencing the fullness of life and try to pass that on to my students. And when things don't go as expected, I say spit on it, rub some dirt on it, and get back in the game! Life is good!
