Mister Hecker grew up in Hermosa Beach. He went to WeeTots nursery school & kindergarten on Longfellow Avenue, attended grades 1-6 at Hermosa View, and spent 7th & 8th grade here at Hermosa Valley. He went to Mira Costa High School, where he held the school record in the 110 meter high hurdles for 23 years! He ran track at El Camino College, and graduated cum laude from California State University Dominguez Hills, where he was named Exemplary Physical Education Major of the Year. Mister Hecker holds teaching credentials in Science and Physical Education. He has coached high school track for nine years.

Mister Hecker is married and has two children, a boy and a girl. His interests include astronomy, track & field, toys, and comic books. In addition, Mister Hecker plays lead guitar in a band!

Mister Hecker is positively delighted to return to Hermosa Valley School as a teacher! He hopes that his enthusiasm for the sciences can help inspire further generations of scientific thinkers!
