I am proud to say that I've taught for fifteen years, twelve of which have been with the Hermosa Beach City School District. Better yet, I have had the privilege of teaching with Lisa Trevino in a job share for eight of those twelve years.

After graduating from Stanford University in 1991 with a degree in American Studies, I joined the Teach for America Program and moved to Los Angeles. I taught in the Pasadena Unified District with the T.F.A. Program for three years. In 1995 I received my teaching credential and Masters Degree from U.C.L.A and settled in Hermosa Beach. My husband, Chuck, and I have both had the pleasure of very short commutes! After teaching 1st grade for four years in Hermosa, we bought our first home in nearby Redondo Beach. Since the birth of our first daughter, Sophie (7yrs old), and then our second daughter, Charlotte (4yrs old), I have been teaching 2nd grade in a job share position with Lisa Trevino. The job share allows me to spend time with my girls and continue my passion for teaching!

It's hard to believe I've been teaching for fifteen years already! Although I grew up and attended college in the Bay Area, I think it's fair to now consider myself a Southern Californian- specifically a "South Bay" local! I consider myself extremely lucky to live, work, and raise my family in such a special place.
