All 5th-8th Graders are invited to participate in Halloween Costume Day at Hermosa Valley on Thursday, October 31. Get creative and have fun with your costumes, but remember the:
Halloween Costume Guidelines - Hermosa Valley School
- Students may not bring items resembling weapons (e.g., no fake knives, swords, guns, etc.)
- Masks are allowed only during the lunchtime costume awards ceremony. Afterward, students should store them in their backpacks.
- Makeup should not drip, smudge, or interfere with their schoolwork.
- Gruesome costumes or makeup (e.g., no fake blood) are not allowed.
- Costumes must follow the school dress code.
- Teachers may ask students to remove parts of elaborate or cumbersome costumes during class time. Please bring a change of clothes or check with your 5th grade/homeroom teacher if you’re unsure of what’s acceptable.
- Students should arrive at school already dressed in their costumes, as there won’t be time to change upon arrival.
- Students must wear closed-toed shoes.
We encourage all Valley students (and staff) to join in the fun, and we can't wait to see the spooky and imaginative costumes you will wear. Dressing up is optional.
Please note: Do not send candy to school after Halloween for the children to eat. Any candy brought to school will be confiscated.
