For the first time in school history, Hermosa Valley is launching Scholar Quiz, a Jeopardy-style academic competition that brings together teams of Dolphins to compete in a fast-paced, single-elimination bracket. Participants will answer a mix of academic, pop culture, and current events questions.

Taking place just before state testing, this event celebrates academic excellence, teamwork, and school spirit, just like we do for athletics. It’s a fun and competitive way to showcase knowledge while fostering collaboration!

How to Sign Up
  • Team captains will register their 4-person teams starting at lunch on Thursday, March 20 by visiting the table in the Bowl.
  • The number of teams will be determined based on interest, so sign up early!

Scholar Quiz is a beloved event at other local middle and high schools, bringing together students, teachers, parents, alumni, and community members. Check out the Study Hut promo video for more information! The 2025 Scholar Quiz will take place from Monday, March 31 through Friday, April 4, depending on the number of teams.

Volunteers Needed – We’ll need readers, judges, and scorekeepers to help run the competition. Stay tuned for more details on how to get involved!
