Dear HBCSD Staff, Families, and Community,
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as your new HBCSD Superintendent. As I begin this journey, I’m thrilled to join a vibrant team truly dedicated to the success and well-being of our students, and I do so with great excitement and a deep sense of responsibility.
With over thirty years of experience in education, I have had the incredible privilege of serving in various capacities, from classroom teacher to school principal to district administrator. These experiences have strengthened my belief that the collaboration between educators, families, and the community is essential in fostering an environment where every student can thrive.
Our District is known for its strong commitment to community partnerships, nurturing a culture of excellence, and its focus on equity and inclusion. I am eager to build upon our Hermosa Schools 2024-2025 Goals and work alongside our talented staff to continue providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of our students. Together, we will strive to create learning environments that not only emphasize academic achievement but also nurture each child's social, emotional, and creative growth.
I am committed to open and transparent communication and deeply value the input and involvement of our families and community members. Over the coming months, I will focus on listening, leaning in, learning, and collaborating on initiatives that will enhance HBCSD’s educational programs and strengthen our community ties. Your diverse perspectives and support will be invaluable as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.
My 100-Day Superintendent Entry Plan will be available at HBCSD.ORG this week, and I encourage you to review my presentation slides from the August 14th School Board Meeting for a preview.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have received so far. I look forward to a bright future for our Hermosa Beach City School District and am dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Let’s make this an amazing school year as we “Thrive K-Life” in Hermosa Beach.
